I have an orange tree in my yard and want to shape trip it?
So California
I want to bring it up a little so kids can't jump and grab the branches.
i am afraid one day the will hang on it and snap.
Do i have to cut in a certain area angle and do i need to protect the cuts with a chemical to prevent dieseaseseeses
tools saw or pruner ?

Very few people trim off the lower branches on an orange tree. Generally the branches grow close enough together that a kid cant rally grab and hang from them. Even if they did the branch probably wouldn't break. If for some reason you do need to cut them do it with a long handled clippers if they are small or a pruning saw if they are more than an inch in diameter. If the branch is very heavy and large you have to make a cut on the underside of the branch about a quarter of the way through the branch then go back and cut from the top all the way through the branch outside of where you made the first cut. No paint or pruning compound is needed or wanted. You can see examples of these cuts if you search pruning trees.
